Congratulations to Matthieu Otto for qualifying for the world final of the Bocuse d’Or [biennial world chef championship].

Matthieu Otto received the special prize for best starter and took fifth place, thereby ensuring his place representing France in the Bocuse d’Or World Final.

Matthieu Otto was surrounded by the whole of ‘Team France’ headed by François Adamski, and was notably trained by Romaud Fassenet, winner of Meilleur Ouvrier de France [professional trade craft competition held every four years in France] and the Michelin starred chef Yoann Chapuis, but also by other top French chefs such as Michel Roth, winner of Meilleur Ouvrier de France & Bocuse d’Or. He was assisted by his commis de cuisine, Louis de Vicari, The winners’ podium is entirely Scandinavian. Represented by Mondo restaurant’s Christian André Pettersen, Norway took gold. Silver and bronze were taken respectively by Swede Sebastian Gibrand (Lux Restaurants) and Dane Kenneth Toft-Hansen (Svinkløv Badehotel).
